Este jefe naval (1899-1975) egresó de la Escuela Naval en 1920, se especializó en telecomunicaciones y algunos de los destinos a destacar en su carrera incluyen la Dirección de la Escuela de Comunicaciones (1939 y nuevamente en 1944), de la Flotilla de Destructores (1944), Gobernador Marítimo de Valparaíso (1946) y Secretario General de la Comandancia en Jefe (1947). Mandos posteriores incluyeron la División de Submarinos (1949), la Dirección General de los Servicios (1950) y de la Dirección del Territorio Marítimo y Marina Mercante (1951). Entre 1952 y 1954 fue Comandante en Jefe de la Armada y en su carrera alcanzó el grado de Vicealmirante.
