Fundada en 1885 con el nombre original de Círculo Naval, esta institución, necesitada de una nueva sede, adquirió la residencia de Teresa Edwards Mc Clure en 1917, ubicada en calle Condell esquina Huito, siendo inaugurada el 21 de mayo de 1918. Poco antes, en abril de dicho año, el Círculo cambió su denominación por la actual de Club Naval.
