Title A name given to the resource Diagrama del Dique Flotante Valparaíso II Description An account of the resource Diagrama que muestra al Dique Valparaíso II en funciones, 1940. Este dique se dio vuelta de campana con el Vapor Chile en su interior durante el temporal que se abatió en Valparaíso, el 21 de mayo de 1940, y fue posteriormente rescatado y vuelto a poner en estado de servicio. En este esquema se aprecian los estanques de inundación de babor (B-C) y estribor (E-F) y estanques de aire. En la parte superior se hallan pañoles varios y alojamientos para la dotación, a babor (A) y a estribor, para máquinas, calderas, carboneras, alojamiento para el capitán y sala de mando (H). El dique tenía un sistema de apuntalamiento de dos corridas de puntales para apuntalar al buque alojado en él, y dos bombas para achicar los estanques de inundación, con una capacidad de 4.500 toneladas/hora.
