Title A name given to the resource Escampavía Galvarino (3°) intentando rescatar al vapor Tenglo, Puerto Montt, 1955 Description An account of the resource Escampavía Galvarino (3°) asistiendo al vapor Tenglo, de la Empresa Marítima del Estado (EMPREMAR). Este vapor había naufragado la madrugada del 28 de noviembre de 1955 tras cortar amarras, precisamente en el canal de Tenglo, que separa la isla homónima, frente a Puerto Montt, de tierra firme, quedando semihundido debido a la poca profundidad de ese pasaje. Varias fueron las tentativas para reflotarlo, y la que capta esta imagen tuvo lugar el 15 de diciembre del mismo año, la que resultó ser infructuosa. Finalmente, la nave fue abandonada por la empresa, y años después desguazada, debido a que se había convertido en un obstáculo para la navegación por dicho canal.
