Había tres unidades de esta clase: el Merino Jarpa, el O’Brien y el Thomson. Desplazaban 350 toneladas, podían dar una velocidad ligeramente inferior a los 30 nudos y su armamento constaba de un cañón de 76mm (12 libras) de tiro rápido, cinco de 57mm (6 libras) y dos tubos lanzatorpedos de 18 pulgadas.
