Arturo Wilson Navarrete (1851-1936) era guardiamarina de dotación de la Corbeta Esmeralda para el Combate Naval de Iquique del 21 de mayo de 1879. Sobrevivió al enfrentamiento, fue hecho prisionero, posteriormente canjeado, y prosiguió su servicio en la Armada durante el resto de la Guerra y el período de postguerra. Se acogió a retiro en 1916.
