En segundo plano el Molo de Abrigo. La Fresia fue construida en los astilleros de la Empresa Nacional Bazán en Cádiz, España, en base a un diseño de la firma alemana Lürssen, junto a sus gemelas Guacolda, Tegualda y Quidora. Fue entregada en diciembre de 1965 y arribó a Talcahuano el 25 de enero de 1966, a bordo del mercante alemán Stuttgart. Integró la Flotilla de Torpederas con base en Puerto Williams hasta la disolución de esta fuerza, en 1997, cuando sus componentes pasaron a ser lanchas de servicios generales (LSG). La Fresia fue asignada a la Gobernación Marítima de Valparaíso, dada de baja en 2005 y posteriormente trasladada a Punta Arenas donde fue instalada en calidad de monumento en la Plaza de la Soberanía, en 2007. Title A name given to the resource Escampavía Yelcho en agosto de 1960. Description An account of the resource Escampavía Yelcho en Valparaíso a fines de agosto de 1960, recién entrado en servicio. Éste era un remolcador de construcción norteamericana, clase Apache, y similar a los Janequeo y Sargento Aldea, adquiridos en diversos momentos. Fue construido en 1943 con el nombre original de USS ATF 93 Tekesta, en los astilleros Comercial Iron Works de Portland, Oregon en 1943. Desplazaba 1.640 toneladas, podía alcanzar los 15 nudos de andar y su armamento era de un cañón de 3”/50 y dos ametralladoras de 20mm. Traspasado a Chile el 16 de mayo de 1960, llegó al país el 28 de agosto del mismo año, y entre sus servicios está el haber cumplido el rol de buque oceanográfico. Fue dado de baja el 30 de agosto de 1996, y fue utilizado como blanco y hundido el 5 de julio de 1996 durante un ejercicio conjunto de las armadas de Chile y los Estados Unidos.
